Keeping your pet healthy starts with prevention, and vaccinations are one of the most important ways we can protect them.

At Animal Health and Wellness, we take a thoughtful, personalized approach to vaccines. Not every pet needs the exact same plan, and we are here to help you understand what is recommended based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors.

Why Vaccinations Matter

Vaccines help protect your pet from serious and sometimes life threatening diseases. Many of these illnesses are still very present in our area, and prevention is always easier and safer than treatment.

They also help protect:

• Other pets in the community
• Your family
• Pets in boarding, grooming, and daycare environments

What Vaccines Does My Pet Need?

We will guide you through this at every visit, but in general:

Core vaccines recommended for most pets may include:
• Rabies
• Distemper combination vaccines for dogs and cats

Lifestyle based vaccines may include:
• Bordetella also known as kennel cough
• Lyme disease, especially important in our area
• Leptospirosis
• Feline leukemia

We will talk through your pet’s daily routine, whether they are social, spend time outdoors, travel, or prefer staying at home, and tailor recommendations from there.

Puppy and Kitten Vaccination Series

Young pets need a series of vaccines to build proper immunity.

We will help you stay on track with:

  • A clear schedule
  • Reminders for boosters
  • Guidance on when your pet is fully protected and ready for socialization

Adult and Senior Pet Vaccines

Vaccinations do not stop after the first year.

We will continue to:

  • Monitor immunity
  • Adjust vaccine timing as needed
  • Avoid over vaccinating while still keeping your pet protected

What to Expect

Vaccination visits are quick, but we always make time for questions. We will review your pet’s health, answer any concerns, and make sure you feel confident in the plan.

Vaccinations are one of the simplest ways to give your pet a long, healthy life, and we are here to make that process easy and comfortable for both of you.
